LAHORE – The Punjab Union of Journalists condemning the layoffs at 7 News Television has announced holding a protest outside the channel’s offices on March 30.
The union’s Secretary General Amir Sohail, in a letter to the news organization’s Chairman Omer Nazar Shah, demanded the management provide details of this unlawful economic murder of journalists.
He warned that PUJ would go to any extent to stop these sackings which are being done for no reason and without giving prior notices to the employees.
Sohail wrote the decision to start a protest campaign against the channel was made after consultations with Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Lahore Press Club, and other journalist bodies.
