ISLAMABAD – A senior Pakistan Television (PTV) official has been barred from entering the office premises, reportedly because of his alleged involvement in a sexual harassment case.
According to an office order dated December 9, the official who is the director current affairs, “will not enter in the premises of PTV HQrs Office/PTV News, Islamabad. He may remain available at his residence for any call of duty.”
The office order however does not say why he was being barred. Insiders however tell JournalismPakistan.com the director news is accused of harassing two female anchors.
It is the second case of harassment in the state-run organization after another director was fined Rs250000 in October by the ombudsperson and censured. A complaint was filed by six female anchors at the station against him.
