ISLAMABAD—The management of The Nation has promoted Salman Masood, serving as a resident editor in Islamabad, as the paper’s editor.
The decision comes following the resignation of Editor Salim Bokhari and his entire newsroom staff in Lahore over ten months of unpaid wages.
Masood, also a correspondent in Pakistan of The New York Times announced on Twitter Thursday that he had been promoted as editor. “Looking forward to rebuild and revive the paper,” he said.
He thanked Rameeza Nizami, the managing director of Nawa-i-Waqt Group for this opportunity.
