Geo journalist Azaz Syed escapes kidnapping attempt

ISLAMABAD – Geo News journalist Azaz Syed Friday escaped a kidnapping attempt by unidentified men in a car and on a motorbike.

News reports said Syed’s car was intercepted on Park Road near Bani Gala Police Station.

Sensing danger, he sped away towards Taramri Chowk and arrived at the Shahzad Town Police Station.

The police have registered a case and started investigation.

SSP Sajid Kiani has directed the relevant officials to get CCTV footage to trace the suspects, news reports said.

Syed joined Geo in 2012. He is the author of the book ‘The Secrets of Pakistan’s War on Al-Qaeda’.
