ISLAMABAD: Waqt News TV lagging behind in ratings will soon wear a new look as its managers bid to take it up a few rungs.
JournalismPakistan.com has learnt the channel run by the Nawa-e-Waqt Group is set to appear with its all-new look most probably on June 26.
A new logo, color scheme and theme along with the latest signings – Fereeha Idrees and Matiullah Jan – should instill a new lease of life in the struggling channel.
As part of its re-launch, the Waqt News management has been looking to hire some prominent journalists. There are reports that anchor Dr Shahid Masood, might also be taken on board.
Fereeha joined the channel at the start of the month from Samaa while Mati of DawnNews is also now on the team.
The Waqt News Chief Executive Officer Rameeza Nizami is said to have told staff members she wants them to do their best and help the channel improve its rank.
The Nawa-e-Waqt Group also runs Urdu daily Nawa-e-Waqt and the English-language The Nation newspaper.
