KARACHI: Sindh police authorities are to make a comprehensive plan to ensure security of news organizations.
Dawn reported Saturday the decision to develop standard operating procedures in this light was taken at a meeting chaired by Additional Inspector General of Karachi Police. Representatives of media houses were also in attendance. The paper said the AIG directed relevant SSPs and SPs to visit media organizations to assess security concerns and report to him about the shortcomings.
The meeting decided the divisional SSPs would meet security officers of media houses to assess issues faced by them and consequently comprehensive plans would be issued by the offices of divisional SPs.
