ISLAMABAD – Following a complaint filed by the head of Anjuman Ahmedia Pakistan against Neo Television and Channel 92, the electronic media watchdog PEMRA has referred the matter to its Council of Complaints.
According to the complainant the channels aired content in their respective programs Harf-e-Raz and Subha-e-Noor that was provocative against a minority whose members are already threatened, harassed and have been attacked by terrorists.
The complainant said such programs serve no national interest but are rather an incitement to violence against minorities which is a violation of National Action Plan and PEMRA laws.
PEMRA has therefore been asked to take action against the erring channels.
