ISLAMABAD - The Council of Complaints of PEMRA has recommended Rs1 million fine on Channel 24 over a complaint filed by Director Federal Investigation Agency, Shahid Hayat.
The decision came during the 132 meeting of the Council in Karachi. It was chaired by Prof. Inam Bari. The channel has been directed to air a clarification and an apology.
On the other hand, the house recommended a fine of Rs200,000 on Samaa for airing self-styled social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch's objectionable remarks against the prime minister.
Samaa has already aired an apology in this regard.
