Geo, Talat apologize for guest's controversial comments
ISLAMABAD: Editorial board of Geo News and anchor Talat Hussain Thursday apologized to viewers and general public for comments of Ahmad Ludhyanvi, patron-in-chief of Ahlesunnat Wal Jamaat.

Ludhyanvi made some controversial and apparently objectionable remarks about the Shia community in Talat Hussain’s program ‘Naya Pakistan’ on Feb 22.

Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and civil society members criticized the anchor and management of Geo for giving airtime to the leader of a proscribed organization.

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has also issued a show cause notice to Geo TV management following the objectionable remarks.

In its apology, the Geo management said that it wants to promote religious harmony and tolerance in the country; therefore it apologizes for the controversial remarks of the guest.
