ISLAMABAD: A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the chief editor and joint editor of Urdu-language Daily Ash-Sharq, reports say.
The paper’s Group Executive Director Moeen Safdar had the FIR registered with the Margalla Police Islamabad against Chief Editor Malik M. Rashad and Joint Editor Qari Elahi Baksh Noori under section 489-f that relates to bounced cheques.
Insiders tell JournalismPakistan.com that cheques issued by the editors to Moeen were dishonored.
No arrests have been made.
