ISLAMABAD - Afzal Butt, a former President of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has filed a constitutional petition in the Supreme Court seeking registration of cases against Pakistan Awami League MNA Sheikh Rasheed and television anchor Dr Danish (pictured), among others, for alleged high treason.
The petition says both were allegedly involved in sedition and abetment for abrogating the constitution and inviting Pakistan Army to clamp martial Law in the country by suspending the constitution.
Muhammad Kamran, President of Move on Pakistan is also named as respondent in the petition because this political party put up banners and hoardings requesting Army Chief General Raheel Sharif to take over by imposing Martial Law.
Butt is also a former President of National Press Club, Islamabad while Dr. Danish is associated with 92 News.
