Court orders lifting of ban on ARY program Live with Dr Shahid Masood

ISLAMABAD – Rejecting a PEMRA plea, the Islamabad High Court Wednesday ordered a 45-day ban on ARY News program 'Live with Dr Shahid Masood' be lifted.

ARY News reported that IHC told the regulator the ban was on Dr. Masood and not on the program, therefore, it should be allowed to go on air. The court is likely to give a verdict in the next hearing scheduled for August 22.

PEMRA had requested the IHC to order a ban on the talk show. Dr. Masood who appears in the program as an analyst was banned allegedly for leveling allegations against the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court.
