Controversial 'aalim' leaving Geo

ISLAMABAD: Geo Television's 'aalim' - Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain is leaving nearly two years after he ditched ARY News to make a return to the channel.

 

Reports say the controversial televangelist is likely to join Express Group.

 

Dr. Aamir, a Vice President at Geo, hosts the program Aalim Online and also conducts a game show Inam Ghar.

 

The reasons for his leaving were not immediately clear, but some reports said he wanted to be the Director News.

 

Dr Aamir was sacked by Geo after he was exposed for abusive language and callous remarks while prepping for his yet-to-be-recorded program. The leaked video came as a shock for many.

 

Liaquat's first stint at Geo lasted 12 years as a host and expert on Islamic affairs with Aalim Online. In June 2012, Geo lured him away from ARY for double the salary he was getting.
