Show cause notice served on Neo TV

ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Thursday served a show cause notice on Neo Television for airing false news about the death of Punjab MPA Kanwal Nauman on February 1.

PEMRA termed the breaking news broadcast at 4:28pm as baseless and said it was also denied by hospital sources. The authority said this unprofessional act had caused immense pain to the MPA's family and relatives.

Neo TV have been asked to explain within 14 days why action should not be taken against them.
