Protesters attack Geo offices in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: In the predawn hours of Sunday, chaos erupted near Constitution Avenue in Islamabad as protesters affiliated with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) targeted the offices of Geo News. The incident unfolded amidst a backdrop of heightened political tension, stemming from a prolonged sit-in demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The protesters, originally gathered for more than two weeks to press their demand, had been mobilizing towards the Prime Minister's House when a faction broke away and directed their ire towards Geo News. The news outlet, known for its extensive coverage of political developments, found itself at the center of the turmoil as demonstrators vandalized the building and inflicted damage on a DSNG van parked nearby.

The attack caused panic among the Geo News staff on duty, prompting a swift evacuation to ensure their safety.
