Erasing History: Imran Khan excluded from PCB's cricket legends video, stirring anger

ISLAMABAD—Journalists, inside and outside Pakistan, have berated Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not mentioning former cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan in its video of cricketing legends on Independence Day.

Author Peter Osborne tweeted: “Stalinist. Imran Khan airbrushed from the history of Pakistan cricket.”

Even when mentioning the 1992 World Cup, which Pakistan won under the captaincy of Imran Khan, his name or picture is not mentioned.

Journalist Owais Tohid asked the PCB not to pollute the cricketing history. “One shouldn't pollute cricketing history with petty politics.
How can one remove the image of Captain Imran Khan, who won the 1992 Cricket World Cup, from the official video of the cricketing legends of Pakistan?”

Moeed Pirzada was angry. “Where is the Captain Imran Khan the only man who won World Cup for Pakistan? Idiots in PCB don’t realise that  they are only insulting themselves..!”
