Journalist Aziz Memon killed in Naushahro Feroze

ISLAMABAD—Aziz Memon, a journalist with Sindhi TV channel KTN News and newspaper Kawish was killed on Sunday, and his body found from an irrigation outlet.

Reports said that he was allegedly strangled near Mehrabpur in Naushahro Feroze.

Dawn, quoting the slain journalist’s brother Hafiz Memon, said that Aziz had gone to a village along with his cameraman Owais Qureshi on Sunday morning to cover a story. His body was found tied to an electric wire in an irrigation channel.

Dawn said that some months ago, Aziz had released a video in which he said that he was receiving threats for his coverage of a news story.

Police have detained the cameraman for questioning and said that they are conducting investigations from various angles.
