BOL Group continues its hiring spree by bringing on renowned journalist Asma Shirazi as Executive VP and Senior Anchorperson. Asma recently received the Peter Mackler Award for her contributions to journalism.Summary
ISLAMABAD: BOL Group's staff hiring appears to have gathered pace, their latest signing being Asma Shirazi, taken on board as Executive Vice President and Senior Anchorperson.
Asma, was in the United States Friday when the announcement was made just as she received the 2014 Peter Mackler Award for Courage & Ethical Journalism in Washington DC.
Host of the program Faisla Aap Ka on DawnNews Television, Asma has previously also worked for Geo, ARY News and Samaa.
She has reported from the front on numerous conflicts that include the 2006 Israel-Lebanon war, Taliban violence on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in 2009 as well as the state of emergency announced by Gen Pervez Musharraf in 2007.
Earlier this month, BOL Group hired Iftikhar Ahmad of Jawabdeh fame from Geo Television. The group has also signed up Geo heavyweights Azhar Abbas and Kamran Khan.
