KARACHI - Office of Aaj Television in Karachi was attacked Friday reportedly by supporters of Mumtaz Qadri for the channel not covering his funeral.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack and said the government believed in freedom of media. The protesters hurled stones at the main gate of the office that damaged window panes and a car parked there. An attack on Hyderabad Press Club was also reported.
Television channels mostly blacked out coverage of Qadri's funeral, the man who murdered Punjab governor Salman Taseer.
