ISLAMABAD – In an advisory, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has told television channels not to air and re-run anti-Pakistan slogans from MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s speech on Monday.
PEMRA pointed out these slogans were repeatedly being aired in analysis and talk shows and directed its license holders to avoid doing so.
It said airing such content violated the spirit of National Action Plan and under the Supreme Court’s Code of Conduct for electronic media there was a ban on telecasting content that is anti-Pakistan and incites hatred.
