Klasra may soon return to The News

ISLAMABAD: Rauf Klasra, Editor Investigations at Roznama Dunya may soon return to The News, the newspaper where he once served as Editor Reporting.

There were reports of Klasra making a similar move in July last year but for some reason things were put on hold.

Fresh reports now say the senior journalist has had a meeting with Mir Shakilur Rehman, the CEO of the Jang Group in recent days to discuss his probable return.

The news of Klasra’s comeback might disturb his colleagues at The News some of whom he had problems with when quitting in late 2010. He also reportedly blamed the newspaper management for being too agenda-driven and to be following an anti-government line back then.

He then joined the Express Media Group and was there for less than a year before being sacked following complications over a story on the in-camera briefing to the joint session of the Parliament by the military in May 2011.

He has been with the Dunya  Group for one and a half year and helped launch the group’s Urdu newspaper.
