Dr. Pirzada set to join Waqt TV

ISLAMABAD: Dr. Moeed Pirzada, Pakistan Television’s Director World Affairs and host of program Sochta Pakistan is joining Waqt TV as a lead anchor.

Insiders tell JournalismPakistan.com his decision to quit at a critical time for PTV when it is set to launch an English language channel has upset the managers.

Pirzada is reportedly being persuaded not to end his association with the channel and do a program for PTV English once it’s launched early next year.

He had signed up with PTV in February 2011 from Dunya News. A source close to him says he sees the Waqt job as a challenge and aims to help guide it to the top. He will also be writing news analysis for The Nation, a sister organization of the Nawa-i-Waqt Group.
