ISLAMABAD: Controversial televangelist Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s program Amaan Ramazan on Geo TV has set a ratings record, if the channel’s sister organization The News is to be believed.
The paper reported Friday that Geo had “outclassed” all other television channels and obtained a GPRS 1974 even beating its own record in collective rating points at the end of the first 10 days of Ramazan.
Other channels could not secure even half of the rating points obtained by Geo, the paper claimed. It said Geo had beaten all competitors even on the second day of the transmission securing record rating.
Dr. Aamir’s prime-time show has seen him present babies to childless couples. The program has seemingly become quite popular but has also drawn accusations that he is using religion to boost ratings.
