ISLAMABAD – BOL Media Group’s new channel Pak News went on air Friday, a quiet launch with no big claims or announcements.
A news channel, it will run alongside BOL, which was launched last December.
Contrary to reports that BOL was changing its name, Pak News will be a separate channel focusing mainly on news and current affairs.
JournalismPakistan.com had reported on March 24 that BOL was ready to hit the airwaves with this new channel and that the launch would be done quietly.
BOL now also has begun transmission in English, after Sindhi, Pashto and Balochi languages. It has plans to cover several other regional languages, including Punjabi.
Recently Shoaib Ahmad Shaikh, CEO BOL Media Group announced plans to start publishing newspapers in regional languages and also in Urdu and English, all within a month.
