Ameer Abbas has resigned from his position at Waqt News after two years and has accepted a new role at DawnNews. He will begin hosting a program in Karachi on August 1.Summary
ISLAMABAD: Ameer Abbas, host of program 'Assignment' on Waqt News Television has quit after two years and has now joined DawnNews.
He will start his new job at DawnNews from August 1 and will host a program from Karachi. Ameer told JournalismPakistan.com that it was wonderful working at Waqt News where he did almost 200 programs. Two of his shows were taken off air for being "too aggressive."
During his stay at Waqt News, Ameer was sued by Editor Investigation of The News, Ansar Abassi, for defamation claiming Rs 50 million in damages. The case is still on.
Previously Ameer worked for Dunya and Express News Television.
