KARACHI: Several journalists were thrashed Thursday by security guards at Liaquat National Hospital when they tried to barge in.
The journalists wanted to enter the hospital to cover news about MQM leader Rashid Godil who is admitted there but the security guards did not let them in.
The guards beat up the journalists including photographers with sticks and hurled punches. However, no journalist suffered serious injury.
The hospital administration immediately intervened and settled the issue amicably.
Godil was attacked by unidentified gunmen Tuesday while he was on his way to Nine Zero, the political headquarters of MQM. He is now struggling for his life in hospital.
