Hamid Mir nominated for 'Most Resilient Journalist Award'

ISLAMABAD - Prominent Geo Television talkshow host Hamid Mir has been nominated for the 'Most Resilient Journalist Award' for showing extraordinary courage and perseverance in reporting.

The website http://en.prothom-alo.com for which Mir writes, reported Saturday that he had secured secured the nomination alongside Colombian investigative journalist Claudia Duque and war correspondent Mohamed al-Qadhi from Yemen. Tafadzwa Ufumeli from Zimbabwe, Mechman Huseynov from Albania and 'Fisayo Soyombo from Nigeria have been nominated for the 'Newcomer of the Year Award', the wesbite said.

These journalism awards will be given away in The Hague during the Free Press Live 2016 - stand up for journalists and justice - on November 2.

The 'Most Resilient Journalist Award' will be handed out by the Permanent Dutch representative of UNESCO, former human rights ambassador, Lionel Veer, the wesbite reported.
