BOL live streams first talk show

ISLAMABAD: The troubled BOL News Television screened their first talk show Friday via live streaming with media being the topic.

Live with NBC - hosted by veteran journalist and Senior Executive Vice President of BOL News Nasir Baig Chughtai (pictured), had journalists as guests. They were Rana Azeem and Amin Yousaf (President and Secretary General Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists), and BOL staff members Faisal Aziz (Sindh Bureau Chief), Amir Zia (Senior Executive Vice President and Editor) and Mushtaq Minhas (Executive Vice President and Senior Anchorperson).

The participants discussed the role of media in the current BOL crisis and pointed out that rival channels had blacked out journalists’ campaign to have the channel unblocked.

The channel’s live transmission remains blocked and the bank accounts frozen as investigations continue into an alleged fake degrees scandal that revolves round Axact, the parent company of BOL.

The guests also discussed media ethics, the economic conditions of journalists and analyzed why some media houses were against BOL.

Live with NBC will be live streamed Monday through Friday.
