ISLAMABAD – Transmission of BOL and Pak News Television channels resumed in some places Thursday but a full resumption across the country was not immediately possible.
Earlier in the day, the Sindh High Court suspended until the next hearing a PEMRA order to revoke the licenses of the two channels.
Canceling the licenses Wednesday, PEMRA said the media group’s directors Shoaib Ahmed Shaikh, Ayesha Shoaib Shaikh, Viqas Atiq and Sarwat Bashir were not given security clearance by the interior ministry.
PEMRA chose the World Press Freedom Day (May 3) to announce its decision.
Both channels are likely to be back on air completely on Friday.
