ISLAMABAD—Unidentified shooters killed a policeman guarding journalist Shireen Zada in Swat on Wednesday evening, prompting fears the journalist may have been the target.
Freedom Network quoted Shireen Zada as saying: “The cop was returning after he dropped me at my home. It is target-killing and attackers may have planned my assassination but found the cop soft target to take out.”
The name of the cop was not immediately known.
Shireen Zada reports out of Swat Valley and has extensively covered the military operations against the Taliban.
