ISLAMABAD–Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned ARY Digital drama Jalan following complaints by viewers over inappropriate content.
In a notification, the regulator said that Jalan did not align with the cultural and societal values of the country, adding that the serial featuring Minal Khan and Emaad Irfaani went against the ethics and morals of Pakistan.
The statement further said the regulatory body had given repeated warnings to the channel to revise the content of the play, however, no changes were made, and the warnings fell on deaf ears.
The regulator banned the drama under Section 27 of the PEMRA Ordinance.
At the start of the month, PEMRA banned the telecast of drama Ishqiya on ARY Digital and Pyar k Sadky on Hum TV for content deemed against social and religious values.
