ISLAMABAD—Reporter Tariq Wardak, associated with Daily Times, who covered the foreign office beat, died early Saturday morning due to cardiac arrest.
In a tweet, the Foreign Office spokesperson expressed deepest condolences, stating that "We share the grief and loss of the bereaved family and his many friends. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah."
"Absolutely shocked and gutted to wakeup to the news of my colleague Tariq Wardak who passed Away due to a cardiac arrest earlier in the morning. We just met this Tuesday, a regular Foreign Office beat reporter - Rest In Peace my Friend," journalist Anas Mallick said on Twitter.
Wardak belonged to Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was the father of a one-year-old daughter.
