ISLAMABAD: A crew of Asian TV Press Network, a private broadcasting news agency, was attacked by a group of workers who manhandled the crew and warned them of dire consequences if they continued coverage of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project.
The team was attacked by workers of the metro bus project. Cameraman Bilal Khan who was slightly injured in the attack said: “One of the attackers approached us and warned that coverage of the project was not allowed and wrapped the camera lens with his hands. Then, he started throwing stones at us. As a result of this incident, I sustained minor injuries to my face.”
Bilal, along with his producer Zahid Ali were filming the construction work on the metro bus project at D-Chowk, Islamabad when the incident took place.
Bilal said the attackers used abusive language and told them to leave the area.
