ISLAMABAD: Senior journalist Asad Abbas Sahi, a former vice president of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalist (PFUJ) died of a heart attack in Lahore on Saturday night. He was 48.
According to Dawn, Asad worked as a chief reporter with City 42 Television channel. He started his career with Jang Group and also remained associated with Express.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. He was to be buried in Daska.
Colleagues remember him as a great journalist, a helpline for those in distress. "He was gem of a person, always ready to help out people who approached him for redressal of their problems. He will be badly missed," said journalist Shahzada Irfan Ahmad of The News on Sunday.
Asad was the brother of Aoun Sahi and Nokhaiz Sahi, both of whom are journalists.
