ISLAMABAD: About a hundred employees of Khabrain and Channel 5 TV have reportedly been sacked for demanding their salaries.
Reports say one of the staff members at Islamabad’s bureau office took the owner of Khabrain Group Imtinan Shahid by the scruff of his neck after being abused for demanding his pay. Staff-members quickly intervened to save the owner from being thrashed, insiders say.
Union leaders of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the National Press Club Islamabad have given two days to the management to pay staff salaries.
