KARACHI: The Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) has demanded immediate reinstatement of journalists sacked by various newspaper managements.
In a meeting, the union expressed concern over the state of affairs and said it would announce its line of action if the newspaper owners and television channels did not change their policies, Dawn reported.
The meeting also decided to participate in the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists' three-week campaign to impunity for crimes against journalists.
KUJ’s project for flats also came up for discussion. A committee was formed to overcome any hurdle in launching the project.
The committee will present its report to the executive council on a monthly basis.
