ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan plans to meet journalists from Geo-Jang Group over tea next week at his residence in Bani Gala.
PTI leader Naeemul Haque told JournalismPakistan.com that Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has been asked to arrange the meeting on Wednesday.
The development came after a delegation of PFUJ held a detailed meeting with Khan Thursday to discuss issues pertaining to working journalists.
Rana Jawad, Bureau Chief Geo News Islamabad, who was also part of that delegation, requested the PTI chief to invite Geo-Jang Group journalists for tea to remove some “misconceptions.”
Imran has criticized the group many times in his speeches, the most recent being in Nankana on November 12 where he renewed call for a boycott of Geo and Jang Group for what he claimed were the blackmailing tactics of its owner Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman.
He told his supporters at that public meeting the Jang Group once published six columns of material against him. He accused Shakil-ur-Rehman of using his staff for fulfilling his agenda.
