KARACHI—Garden Police have arrested three fake journalists involved in harassing families and carrying out other illegal activities under the guise of journalism.

According to the SSP City Shabbir Ahmed Sethar, three fake TV reporters, Mohammad Akbar, Islam Ullah, and Mohammad Rizwan, were detained during a snap check. The police also found Rs13,920, three mobile phones, two fake press cards, and other items from their possession.

The arrested suspects, who used to pose as Royal News TV reporters, made videos of innocent people and families to threaten and harass them.

The fake journalists tried to blackmail a doctor while visiting his private clinic located at Quaidabad. They were also involved in the harassment of a family staying in a guesthouse.

Police have started an investigation after registering a case under Sections 382, 419, 468, 471, 34.
