LAHORE – The News on Sunday Editor Farah Zia has resigned, reportedly because of pressure from predators of press freedom.  

She edited the Sunday edition since 2007 during which the paper covered a string of great topics, some of which did not go down well with the authorities.

Although she has cited personal reasons for leaving, some circles see it as another attempt to sideline critical voices.

The News on Sunday regularly carries investigative stories on sensitive topics, features, and travelogues. Readers love the paper’s layout and its bold reporting.
