ISLAMABAD – Prominent journalist and analyst Sohail Warriach has quit Dunya News after a row with the management over his appearance on a rival television channel.

Insiders tell JournalismPakistan.com the management was not happy after he appeared in a talk show on 92 News recently. He was served a show-cause notice for doing so.

Warraich, the Group Editor, and Executive Director, reportedly got upset because of this and opted to quit. His association with Dunya News lasted barely seven months.

At Dunya TV he hosted the program Aik Din Dunya Kay Saath.

Before joining Dunya Group, he worked for Geo where he first earned fame with his program Aik Din Geo Kay Saath.

Warraich’s style of asking questions often ending with Kia Ye Khula Tazad Nahin became common phrase as he interviewed celebrities focusing on their daily lives in his program.

Warraich was associated with Geo since the channel’s inception. He began his career in journalism through print in the 1990s.

A source says he is currently in the United States.
