ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) issued a warning to Samaa TV Thursday after it aired suicide scenes in one of its programs.
The channel showed the objectionable content in the program Emergency Ward on August 2, a PEMRA release said.
The regulator said such content violated several PEMRA clauses and the electronic media code of conduct. The content, it said was “highly offensive and hurts sentiments of viewers.”
PEMRA told the channel to be careful and vigilant in the selection of content and directed activating its in-house committee to monitor content.
