LAHORE—Punjab Union of Journalists (PUJ) has condemned the mishandling of reporters covering a clash between student groups at Punjab University.

In a statement, President Shehzad Hussain Butt and General Secretary Muhammad Shahid Chaudhry urged the authorities to take strict action against so-called students and arrest the culprits within 48 hours. "Otherwise, a protest demonstration would be arranged against the administration," the statement warned.

Atif Pervez, Joint Secretary PUJ, associated with Dunya News and another female reporter Ummay Farwa from Geo News, covered the clash when some violent students started torturing them. Moreover, their cell phones were also snatched.
