PESHAWAR—Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Friday announced a boycott of covering Health Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Taimur Saleem Jhagra (pictured), over his inappropriate behavior and non-cooperation with journalists affected by COVID-19.
The announcement came after a request was made for the media coverage of an inaugural ceremony of a newly established public health laboratory at the Khyber Teaching Hospital on Saturday.
According to a press release, PPC General Secretary Imran Yousafzai said that the body urged media workers not to cover the activities of the provincial health minister.
Abdul Baseer Qalandar, an assignment editor at Aaj News, also expressed concern over the minister not assisting the journalists affected by coronavirus.
Fakhruddin Syed, a reporter with 92 News TV, died of COVID-19 on Thursday morning in Peshawar.
