ISLAMABAD – Electronic media regulator PEMRA has served show-cause notices on Channel 24 and Abb Takk TV for airing an unedited public address that had abusive and derogatory slogans chanted by workers of a political party.

The regulator pointed out that it was a violation of its laws and code of conduct.

PEMRA has directed the channels to effectively deploy a time delay mechanism to avoid such violations in the future.

Both channels are required to submit written responses and also have their officials appear for a personal hearing on December 13.
