PEMRA Council of Complaints warns Express News

ISLAMABAD – The Council of Complaints of electronic media regulator PEMRA has taken notice of what it says are “illegal media practices” by television channels.

In its 84th meeting in Lahore, the council warned Express News to abide by rules and regulations after the channels aired derogatory language against the lawyers in its program Khabardar.

The council was hearing a complaint lodged by Asad Naeem.

In another complaint, 7 News was directed not to air content against Coca-Cola Company’s water brand Dasani following a complaint filed by Fahad Qadir, Director Public Affairs & Communications, on behalf of the Coca-Cola Export Corporation Pakistan and Afghanistan Regions.

The complainant said the false and defamatory content was aired against the water brand in the program Capital Front.

The council adjourned the matter.
