Muhammad Malick slams PEMRA's attempt to silence election concerns

ISLAMABAD—Muhammad Malick is livid with the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) for barring the electronic media from discussing the possibility of a flawed election process.

In a post on X, he asked if PEMRA has gone absolutely bonkers. Media barred from even discussing the possibility of a flawed election process by EC, he tweeted.

On December 4, PEMRA issued a notification, saying all the satellite TV channels were directed to ensure that no speculative, doubtful false information/content concerning the electoral process of General Elections is aired.

Malick added that all media outlets and journalist organizations reject this ridiculous unholy commandment. He called the PEMRA notification a brazen censorship that should be resisted.
