ISLAMABAD - Journalists have welcomed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s speech over the Pulwama attack, terming it balanced and sensible.
Channel 24 presenter Nasim Zehra, said on Twitter the speech was simple and logical. “Excellent-straight, simple & logical message by @ImranKhanPTI to Indian govt. Ofers dialogue on terrorism & on Kashmir. Says Kashmir imposible to solve thru violence and Pak wil definitely respond militarily to any Indian mil aggresion.
Also asks 4 evidence 2 coop Pulwama inquiry.”
Analyst Mazhar Abbas said the prime minister was spot-on. “PM was spot on simple and straightforward. Ready for dialogue but in case of any Indian adventure Pakistan will not even think to retaliate but will retaliate.”
Columnist Nadeem Farooq Paracha termed the speech one of the finest moments for Imran Khan as prime minister. In a tweet, he said: “For me, today’s speech by IK was certainly one of his finest moments as PM. Hysteria countered by reason. Kudos.”PM was spot on simple and straightforward. Ready for dialogue but in case of any Indian adventure Pakistan will not even think to retaliate but will retaliate.

Rights activist and journalist Marvi Sirmed thought that the speech dampened the spirits of warmongers in Pakistan. “Really enjoying how the warmongers on Pakistan’s media are not happy with the policy statement of PM@ImrankhanPTI. Point to be noted: most of these warmongers have long been IK/PTI’s supporter, rather proxies on media :).”
Veteran journalist Imtiaz Alam said it was a good speech and looked forward to Indian prime minister’s response. “Good speech by PM Imran Khan. Let’s see how PM Modi responds?”
If my call is so important to them, why don’t they answer it for 22 minutes?
