KARACHI —Senior journalist Anil Datta, 70, who worked for The News died here on Friday afternoon.
The News reported that Datta was at the Karachi Press Club when he passed away.
The paper said that Datta, who belonged to the Christian community, was known for his polite demeanor and impeccable English language skills. A bachelor, he dedicated his life to journalism.
He was a graduate of Government College Lahore and later settled in Karachi where he began his career in journalism.
During his career, he served as a sub-editor and reporter at Pakistan Gulf Economist, Business Recorder, Dawn, and The News.
He wrote prolifically on art and culture.
