ISLAMABAD—Journalist Imran Riaz Khan has said that Express News has told him he would not be allowed to go on air.

Imran Riaz Khan recently started his talk show on Express News. In a tweet in Urdu, he said: “When I went to the office of Express News, I was told I cannot go on air.”

He said when asked about the reason for taking him off air, the Express News management told him that he had not done anything wrong, “but we regret we have to stop you.”

Commenting on the tweet, journalist Jasmeen Manzoor regretted the decision. “This is really pathetic how many voices will they stop?”

In his vlog, Riaz said he had done eight talk shows on Express News in three weeks. “I just ask if I have allowed any illegal or unconstitutional comment to go on air in any of the programs.”

He accepted the version of Express News as he did not want to put everybody’s job in danger. “I do not know when the powerful will allow my show to go on air. But right now, I have been forcibly stopped from doing this program.”
