ISLAMABAD—Irfan Raza, a senior reporter for Dawn, was rescued by the police from Chakri on Thursday.

Raza was kidnapped by four armed men from Islamabad's G-11 sector Thursday evening. The journalist's family filed an FIR.

The police formed a committee under the SSP investigation to probe Raza's abduction and release.

Raza's brother Shahzad Raza confirmed the rescue and thanked all who had extended help. He requested the arrest of the kidnappers and the recovery of Irfan Raza's vehicle.
